Description
These plates slide into the box section above the engine bay , they are replacement threaded plates .
THESE ARE FIDDLY TO FIT , I have had these cut with 2 small extra holes to help manoeuvre the plate around to line up the holes , then the added grub screw can be screwed into 1 threaded hole , this makes it easier to line up the other hole ,
- I would wax the plates prior to fitting to keep rust back , if you paint them I would clean holes out after dry or it will be hard to screw in the grub screws .
- This was my way of doing this ……. remove or move the old pieces out of the way (Take out or push out of the way) There are 2 openings inside the engine bay to slide plates in .
- I used so wire (welding wire) to push the plate into the box section , lining up 1 threaded hole ,
- Screw in the long grub screw , once in it makes it easier to align the second hole the screw in a second grub screw , this stops the plate moving when you offer up the engine lid hinges
- repeat for the second plate
- Then slide the hinges over the 2 grub screws , hold 1 grub screw while you remove 1 grub scrub and replace with the countersunk screw (I use the grub screws to hold the plates in place while removing the other grub screw , its easier to do than it is to write done ………….
